My poem titled “You Said…”

Life, poem, Poetry, Uncategorized, Writing

You said you’d give the moon to me
But I stand in an empty house
Between four walls
You promised unending compassion
But I whisper my fears to my own ears
Because there’s no one around to hear
You said love never dies
But something died
As I watched you out on the town with her
You said you’d give the moon to me
But in the end
You just left me with a whole lot of empty space

My poem titled “Fade”

Life, Poem, Poetry, sad, Uncategorized, Writing

I stand with one foot over the edge
And the other in a grave
One hand clasped in yours
And the other tries to misbehave
My eyes are skywards
But my heart is fearful
Dare I try to dream again?
My shattered ambitions are plentiful
The clouds rolls over your face
And my decision is made
This tug-o-war has to end
I have to let myself fade

My poem titled “Rooted”

Life, Poem, Poetry, sad, Uncategorized, Writing

Just when I think I’ve heard the last of you

You come traipsing back into my life

Larger than life itself

And remind me everything

I tried so hard to forget

And the worst part is

It’s not even you

It’s the memory of you

I sleep and your face surfaces in the dream world

I try to sleep and can’t seem to think of anything else

I stare up at the ceiling and can’t shake you

You’re rooted in my subconscious

I wish I could undergo some surgical procedure

To extract you from my brain

But I guess I’m resigned to living a life

Without a say in who remains in it
