my poem titled “The Silver Screen”

life, poem, poetry, writing

Dark days

And even darker nights

Haunt me like poltergeists

They give rise to nightmares

Both sleeping and awake

They steal my very breath away

Toying with pictures I know aren’t there

They slink through the shadows

Behind the curtain

Casting ghastly images

I hide my face behind my fingers

But curiosity gets the best of me

And soon I peek through them

And let out a scream

This isn’t the silver screen

It’s a twisted puppet show

My own demons trying to amuse me
