my poem titled “Loose Lips”

life, poem, poetry, writing

As wide and as deep and as vast as the sea
Is the pocket of secrets I solemnly keep
So many, so marred, so many, a few
Told a secret and could keep it
Only a few

Words tumbling from your mouth, a bubbly spring
Spewing lies, secrets, deceitful songs you sing
For ears meant only to hear
Under lock and key
Words hold all but truth, your only fear
Told a secret and could keep it
Only a few

World on a spindle
Secrets turn and they kindle,
Within them hints of truth
Inside the warm hearth, stewing
Brewing up lies
Told a secret and couldn’t keep it
Loose lips, surprise
